Meet Your Podiatrist 

Humaira Ismail qualified with a Bachelor of Technology in Podiatry at the University of Johannesburg in 2016.

 

During her student years she was actively involved in different societies and community work. Humaira was a member of the Golden Key Society, UJenius, Podiatry Association of South Africa (PASA), Muslim Students Association (MSA) and the Islamic Medical Association (IMA). She held various leadership positions amongst others being a class representative and student representative for the Islamic Medical Association. She was granted the opportunity to represent the Podiatry department in the Appalachian State University Student Exchange Programme. Humaira received the Best Student 2016 award from PASA and was awarded the Top Achiever - Bachelor of Technology 2016 by the University of Johannesburg.

Humaira was employed by the University of Johannesburg as a part-time clinician/tutor in the Podiatry department in 2017. She enjoyed working with students and playing a role in their development as podiatrists. Humaira is currently employed as a moderator in the Podiatry department and is focusing on promoting her own practice in a medical centre in Dunkeld West. She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and the Podiatry Association of South Africa (PASA).

 

She is passionate about community work and organises screenings in collaboration with IMA, Radio Islam International, Muslim AIDS Programme and the UJ Podiatry department.
